Documentation:

• Applicants must provide proof that they are 18 years of age.
• Applicants must provide proof of Social Security Number.
• Applicants who have never been issued a Social Security Number must sign an affidavit.
• Applicants, if previously married, must provide proof that the previous marriage has ended.
• Applicants under 18 years of age must have consent from a parent who has full or joint custody.

Other Information:

• Fees in the amount of $60.00 (effective September 1, 2009) must be paid in cash.
• The marriage license must be used in North Carolina.
• The marriage license is good for 60 days from the date of issuance.
• There is no requirement for a physical examination or blood test
• There is no waiting period for a marriage license.
