In North Carolina primaries, you are allowed to vote only in the primary of the party with which you are affiliated, or if Unaffiliated you may choose one of the parties when entering the polling location.
The party candidates are nominated in the Primary elections and in the General elections you elect the person who will serve these offices:
United States Senators (2) elected for six (6) year terms – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
United States Representative (1) elected for two (2) year terms – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
Governor and other state officials are elected for four (4) year terms – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
22nd Superior Court Judge (3) elected for eight (8) year terms – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
22nd District Attorney (1) elected for four (4) year terms – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
22nd District Court Judges (9) elected for four (4) year staggered terms (7 & 2) – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
Note: Each of the above file with the State Board of Elections
and the following file with the County Board of Elections.
NC State Senate and State Representative (1 of each) elected for two (2) year terms – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
County Clerk of Superior Court (1) elected for four (4) year term – filing fee is 1% of state set beginning salary
County Register of Deeds (1) elected for four (4) year term – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
County Sheriff (1) elected for four (4) year term – filing fee is 1% of annual salary
Davie County Commissioners (5) elected for four (4) year staggered terms (2 & 3) – filing fee is $10.
Davie County School Board Members (6) two (2) elected every two (2) years for a six (6) year term at the Primary Election – filing fee is $5.
Davie County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor (3) elected for four (4) year staggered terms (1 & 2) – filing fee is $5.
